This year we're expecting the return of 90s style biker shorts (yes, really!), beautiful, bold colours, and sheer dresses to experiment with or layer over / under your other wardrobe faves. 2018 fashion, we're ready for ya!
1. Ultra Violet
Pantone announced 2018's Colour of the Year to be Ultra Violet which they describe as "an enchanting purple shade that offers designers versatility of expression” and “communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.” Some other hot colours for 2018 that we love are: Cherry Tomato, Palace Blue, Ash Rose and Lime Punch. We can’t wait to experiment with our make-up and clothes this year!
2. Bike Shorts
90s style bike shorts have made a comeback and we’re digging it! Kim Kardashian has been wearing them for a long time and we’ve always loved how she styles them with a shirt and heels. Ever since the Spring 2018 runways showcased them, we can’t stop dreaming about teaming a pair of black lace-edged bike shorts with sparkly black sock boots, our Xenia Bra and a smart blazer 💃
3. Sheer / Transparent
This is a trend we can definitely get onboard with because, in case you couldn’t tell by our Xenia collection, we’re suckers for sheer materials. Molly Goddard is the original Queen of the sheer fashion scene with her gorgeous transparent dresses, leggings and tops but recently it’s become more mainstream in the fashion industry and we can’t wait to try a mixture of both risqué and elegant looks.
4. Haute Denim
Denim will be a big part of most people’s wardrobes for as long as the “I’m wearing jeans and a nice top” outfit exists! We’re predicting that denim will be a major trend this year after seeing it all over the runways, but we also believe that it will be funked up a bit. Customisation is a great way to add some va va voom to your wardrobe and denim makes an easy canvas for adding your own embroidery and patches. If you’re too lazy for that (🙋), a lot of high street stores and designers have ready-made ones, just like these gorgeous jewelled Topshop jeans…
Tassels are officially in, and not just for your nipples! A lot of major designers (like Nina Ricci and Balmain) showcased this trend on the catwalks and we’re so glad it’s going to be a part of 2018 fashion. We’re totally feeling a fringed maxi dress with our Frame Bra layered over the top!
